This
route runs through the regions of El Gironès and La Selva. You start in Girona, near the Park called La Devesa and follow the bikeway in the direction of Olot until Km 14.64, just before Anglès. At this point, you leave the bikeway and you continue alternating on asphalt roads and mud tracks. You ride past the small hermitages of Sant Pere Sestronques and Sant Romà and through the villages of Sant Dalmai and Salitja. You
also ride at a short distance from the small towns of Bescanó, Bonmatí
and Anglès. A few kilometres after the hermitage of Sant Romà, you take
a path that runs along the bank of the river Onyar, through the wood. You
arrive back in Girona from the South. The
charm of this route lies in the discovery of the hermitages of Sant Pere
Sestronques and of Sant Romà and in cycling along the path by the river
bank. Another curiosity is that you cycle just below the runway of Girona
Costa Brava-Airport. Natural
vegetation: oak wood,
hazel tree plantations, riverbank trees and bushes along the river Onyar
and cultivated fields. Urban
areas, supplies, medical services…: Along the route, you ride through these towns and villages of Girona
province: Salt, Bescanó, Sant Dalmai and Salitja, where you can find food
and water supplies and other services. You also ride near Bonmatí and
Anglès. You can find bars beside the route just before Bonmatí and
Salitja. From Anglès to Salitja there are no services. Xesca English version: Sara Puigdemont and Vivien Greatorex
